Northwest Imports was established in November 1984 by David Wostarek and Robert Chilek. At the time they were the Shop Foreman and Service Manager at the Porsche Audi dealer and were frustrated with the corporate restrictions that hindered them from delivering the best possible customer service. Thus Northwest Imports was born with its number one goal being to take care of the customer. Initially, the focus was only on European cars such as Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, and Volkswagen. Eventually, Asian makes such as Toyota and Honda were added. Since then times have changed, Robert left the business to pursue other ambitions, David’s son Andrew became involved and the transition to the next generation has begun, but through it, all vision has only become clearer. Today Northwest imports have evolved into a family-owned business whose mission is still customer-oriented but with a desire to build a family with our customers and employees. We look forward to many more years of providing honesty, excellence, and friendship to automotive service in Austin.
